  Hi Keith
Memory test - the Rainbow, Magic Muscle, Hawkwind, Beryl Billabong and the Sheilas, and yourself singing The Ballad of Robin Head. Around 1971/72?
And some time around then, my 21st birthday party at a farmhouse outside Bristol with the Magic Muscle folk and a splendid birthday loaf.
Was thinking about you since my kid brother (now 51)sang me the Ballad of Robin Head in its entirety over lunch at Easter (no idea why ...)
Glad you're still making music
Sue
(If it helps, at the time usually attached to Steve B!)

  Hi Brian

Looking forward to seeing you all at Broadstairs and I will be trying for another gig at Dartford next year with a bit of luck

I agree about the electric - it's not 'me' and I will only be playing acoustic from now on - no gimmicks, just me and an acoustic. Not that I've played an electric guitar for years but I know what you mean.

As for the Palomino, I'd get a Taylor instead! - mine is wonderful and it has revolutionised my playing, witness 'Western Man' and 'Living in a World'

glad to see that your at broadstairs folk week this year quite alot of people will come from dartford folk club to see you.your new cd sounds the best ever.acoustic is better for you than electric which you sometimes switch to half way into your sets.so thats it go easy on electric in folk clubs imm sure kent/broadstairs will enjoy your very fine song writing singing and acoustic guitar playing. i am going back to ebay now to look for fender palamino .brian

  Thanks for replying Keith.

I'm in Provence, western side (ie south east France), about 20km south of Avignon - reasonably clear of expats ;-)

Bit more sandy than the Auvergne, but also a bit more laid back! Plus better weather, warmer temps etc

As for Rochefort, well they're on target! They take festivals here seriously, but, like all things French, in their own time. Part of the charm of living here.

There are no 24 hour shops, so stock up. And of course you have to say hello to everyone in the bar and shake their hand/kiss before you get yer beer.

Wasn't worried, because Sal Bernardi from California (guitarist with Rickie Lee Jones etc) played last year, and there's a photo on his web site:

http://www.salbernardi.com/

A bit further up the coast than I thought, but looks like worth a trip. Anybody else going, and up for a meet and a few beers?

I actually work for a company that imports British food, so you don't need to miss your Boddingtons/Newkie Brown/Beans/Marmite/Golden Syruo etc.

Of course, if you move down here, I guess I won't have to go to Bristol to see ya!

Hi Keith - wonderful to see you're still active. I've not kept in touch with your career recently but remember vividly your gig at Trinity School in the mid 70's. Supposed to be a band gig but ended up being solo. You wowed us crowd of privileged independent school wannabee hippies.

  Hi Tony

They have asked me to play 24th to 26th August but they have not replied to my email accepting the offer so that's a bit of a concern as to how serious the offer is

I'm looking to buy a place in two years or so down in the Limousin or Auvergne - where are you?

Great little site. Good to rediscover you again. Only seen you once, at Bracknell "Folk" Festival, ooh, about 15 years ago? With The Strawbs amongst other.

Awesome. Pretty much played the tape to death, so I suppose that's a good excuse to buy some CDs.

I see you're coming to SW France in August. Other side of the country to me, but nearer than the UK, so I'll try and get across.

Any ideas what day(s) you're playing yet?

  Hi Keith

I'm enjoying your lovely music which you have given us via your free downloads - especially Western Man and Love Like This - really awesome stuff. I am going to promote you through our mailing list. Also I have decided to do free downloads every month of my songs so I hope you don't mind me plagiarising your idea.

I had the honour and privilege to play support act to you in Belper a couple of years ago, and thanks again for lending your sound system for me to perform with

I hope you get more recognition for your music in the future

All the best
Peter Brown

Welcome back Keith. I'm still playing Brighter Day (bought on vinyl so long ago) - still brings tears & laughter and very fond memories of those halcyon days 30 years ago when we had lots of hair and not a care. Keep making music Keith, we need you!

I hope you like this one - it has an anti-spam filter (the code below) so maybe the internet scumbags (interbags? scumnets?)will take their attentions elsewhere

Love to you all and a curse on comcast, kornet, chinanet and George Bush's brother who could clean up Florida, the spammers haven, in a trice if he chose to.....
